The reviewer who called this "awesome" got it right. I bought it in red to match our kitchen walls and tile, and it looks great. My old pre-digital scale was very compact, as is this one, but I needed a scale to go down to .1 oz (for homebrewing, among other kitchen adventures). I took some hop packets from the freezer and played with it -- seems accurate and works fast. The tare function is hugely valuable and the toggle between US and metric makes switching a breeze.
Really one of the best $25 investments I've ever made!

I have to have this shipped to a US address because amazon.comn won't ship this item to Canada.
Works awesome! I tried a basic wal-mart scale and they were crap. This looks half decent too.
The tare function is awesome. It really is a great scale and an amazing deal!

I owned it for about a year using it about once a month and when I most recently pulled it out of the cupboard to use it, all that would show on the display was "out2". Changing the batteries had no effect. I don't recall abusing it with water or too much weight, and certainly, it was working when I last used it.Customer Review: Compact, accurate, easy to use -- a real winner!

I bought this because we buy some food items in bulk at Costco and freeze after repackaging. I try to mark the new weight, but sometimes I'm off. Now, when I take something out of the freezer to defrost in the microwave, I whip out this little scale, which takes up almost no space at all, and weigh the package before defrosting. It's invariably more accurate than my estimates on the package. Well worth the money!Customer Review: Cover with saran before using flour

Love this scale, especially being able to subtract the weight of a measuring cup, for instance, for a net weight of ingredients but if you don't cover the top with a sheet of saran wrap, as I didn't, a little spilled flour gets down into a crevice and obscures the weight window from underneath. No way to clean it out. I'm hoping some canneed air(used for cleaning computers, etc.) will help.
