Customer Review: Big help with snacks

We like to make our own 100 calorie snack packs using this scale makes it easier. The buttons are somewhat smallish so that's a drawback, but my kids and I do an assembly line with large bags of snack items and fill up smaller snack size bags by weighing out exactly 100 calories of each item using the features on this scale. Good to teach the kids too.

Good idea but very poor execution. Half the buttons don't work or unresponsive. Nutrition calculator is limited due to several of the number keys not working. Batteries become dislodged every time unit is moved.
The manufacturer contacted me for replacement in timely manner. But I was already able to find and correct problems. Item is working up to it's expectations now.

After considering several different scales, I settled on this model and have been pleased so far. The EatSmart is compact and takes up very little space. The database of 999 items is fairly complete but there is also a calculator feature for calculating nutritional values of any items not listed in the database if you know the nutritional value per serving and the serving size. The scale is also fairly easy to use. It is ideal for calculating nutritional information of basic ingredients used in meal preparation.

After reading the reviews I decided that this would be perfect for my wife who has been diagnosed as "Pre-Diabetic.
After receiving the scale I noticed that the glass shelf was install at a cocked angle of about 15 degrees.
I returned it for a refund due to concerns about quality control during manufacture.

It weighs accurately and has stood up well. The only thing I do not like is that it will provide ounces, but not pounds and ounces. That improves a persons skills at dividing mentally. I do like fhe fare feature which allows all measurements to exclude the weight of the container used on the scale. The glass scale tray is wonderfull making, clean up much easier.
