I began making my own pizzas recently and felt like the beginning of an infomercial whenever I tried to transfer my pizza onto the hot baking stone (you know, where everything goes wrong: the person has flour and cornmeal all over their hair and the kitchen, the pizza is sticking and stretching and misshapen as the person tries to cajole it off the baking sheet with an undersized spatula, and ends up in a strange blob half on and half off the intended stone...)
After one of these experiences, I got on Amazon and found this peel with it's rave reviews and excitedly purchased it.
As all of the other reviewers state, this works perfectly. It is truly amazing. I can't imagine making another homemade pizza without it (if you are the type of person who wants to make the pizza first and then transfer it onto a preheated stone). I have not tried it for any other purpose yet, but like the suggestions for delicate pastries and layer cakes.
After using this, I felt like the end of the infomercial- watch me now perfectly slide my pizza onto the hot stone with this slick little invention!!
