I put my plain homemade yogurt in this thing and the whey begins to drain out immediately. You will want to dump out the whey after only about ten minutes. At that point you may stop straining or continue on depending on the thickness you need -from creamy yogurt to thick spread and all levels in between. Flavoring the end results is limited only by your tastes and imagination! Handy dandy setup with its own lid to keep things tasty. Love it.Customer Review: Excellent product

I love Greek-style yogurt and have been paying a premium price for it at the grocery store. However, since I bought this yogurt maker, I've been able to make my own for much less than what I was paying. The yogurt tastes wonderful and it's quick and easy. Depending on how thick you want it, you usually have to empty out the whey once due to the shallowness of the bottom, but it's a quick 5-second job. I would highly recommend this product if you like the thick, custardy type of yogurt.Customer Review: Excellent stariner!

I bought this yoghurt strainer several weeks ago and usuing it almost daily. Me and my wife, being originally from Mediterranean, use strained yogurt for several dishes called "mezes", including szatziki, grilled eggplant with garlic yoghurt, or just plain as a side dish. Also, you can add herbs and spices and make a healthy spread to replace your high fat cream cheese.Customer Review: Excellent! Functional, compact, easy to clean.

This is a fantastic little device. It's very tidy and cleans easily in the dishwasher. It also holds quite and bit and keeps fridge smells out of the yogurt. In addition to yogurt, I have used it to drain ricotta for cooking.
