Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisipro Donvier Yogurt Cheese Maker

Customer Review: Awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

Mine worked like a charm from the first time I bought it. Those that complain that the yoghurt sits in the whey just need to drain it once and a while if their yoghurt is giving off a large amount if whey. That's not very difficult.

I use homemade yoghurt that I make with yogourmet starter culture and make in a Waring Pro maker.

There is no weird metal taste, its easy to use, easy to clean and stacks easily in my fridge (unlike a homemade bowl/coffee filter contraption). I don't have to worry about it being contaminated or taking on any weird smells from the fridge.

A+ product in my books. Yes it could be a lot cheaper (the price kept me from buying for a long time) but once I bought it I wondered why it took me so long. It's not that expensive considering how long you'll have it.

Customer Review: BEST YOGURT CHEESE MAKER
Summary: 5 Stars

When I began my online search for yogurt makers, I really didn't know what to buy. Someone had given me a small container of Greek yogurt, and I loved it. When I went to purchase the Greek Yogurt, I knew I would have to learn how to make it. The cost of Greek Yogurt does not fit into our budget. I started my search on amazon, the reviews for this yogurt maker sold me on it.

I buy a large container of Plain Dannon Yogurt ($1.94), put it in the yogurt strainer and take it out before it becomes cheese and its the perfect Greek
Yogurt. I can usually get 4 to 5 servings out of this one large container.

That figures to about 40 cents per serving.

The other great thing about this yogurt maker is that it is small and easy to clean. I highly recommend this product

Customer Review: Believe, it works
Summary: 5 Stars

This is not rocket science, just a real well made strainer in an real well made air tight container. And it works ! Very easy to clean, not much could be done to improve it. Gives you a nice yogurt cheese base for you to flavor any way you desire. February 2011 UPDATE - Four years and all is good. Unit still looks like new though it's made a ton of cheese.

Customer Review: Best money spent
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best money spent for a single use item. If you have ever hung yogurt, wrapped in cheese-cloth, or tried the drip method --- you will love this neat container that makes life so much nicer. And don't forget to save the whey to use in baking or a smoothie .... The whey will last three weeks, in the fridge, in a sealed glass container.

Customer Review: Better than draining through a coffee filter
Summary: 5 Stars

Put away the open bowl under a coffee filter in a strainer. This yogurt cheese maker will replace that. It's a self-contained box with a fitted strainer and snap-close lid.

It's easy and convenient. Place the strainer in the box, scoop the yogurt into the strainer, put the lid on and let it drip overnight or longer depending how thick you like yogurt cheese. Then add your own fruit or flavorings. I like lemon zest mixed into mine. And maple syrup is wonderful too!
