This airline approved pet carrier is great quality and is handy also as a backpack and a car seat.
It is now March of 2011 and I just bought another of these carriers. I gave the other one to my parents in 2007 for their maltese and they have used it to take her back and forth across the country several times by plane as well as by car. It may not appear sturdy, but it has held up very well and is still in great shape. The storage compartments are so handy and the handle is good and long, so it is easy to wheel through the airport. It lays down well under the seat and the dog just lies down that way, whereas she sits up on the bottom portion where the wheels are when you are pulling it. And now I have my own for my maltese!
