I used my Silpat once, and noticed a lot of smoke coming from my oven. Then, after only one use, I noticed the silicone disintigrated in one corner. It looks like tiny pieces of silicone have peeled off. I'm going to return it and get a new one, but has anyone else experienced this problem? Several years ago I was introduced to baking with a silpat through a cooking class I was taking. I now own 4 and wouldn't bake without them. Quick, easy and never a mess. No more washing baking sheets. They are however not dishwasher safe. This is not a problem for me but for some people it could be. I just wipe them clean and they are ready for the next time.Customer Review: Delighted Customer
