I got one of these CrockPots several months ago and have used it primarily for cooking vegetable soups and stews. I found that it works well -- I can put the ingredients in and ignore it for several hours. I haven't tried leaving it for an 8-hour workday. For those who are beginners, CrockPot has a list of recipes on the internet, and I can't wait to try the desserts! Preparing a "full" crockpot of food can provide about six meals, but you need to be careful when measuring ingredients. For this small crockpot, I found that I need to reduce ingredient quantities of standard recipes by about half.
