From it's inception in the late 50s until Corning, Inc. sold its kitchenware division, Corningware meant pyroceram. This is just crockery. You can get real pyroceram on ebay. I understand it is still sold new in Asia.

CorningWare combines pretty with practical in this 16-pc. jumbo set of French White stoneware. With all the dishes you need to create everything from ordinary meals to extraordinary gourmet dinners, the set includes four 7-oz. ramekins, 15- and 16-oz. oval dishes with plastic covers, 1.5- and 2.5-qt. round dishes with glass covers, and 1.5- and 2.5-qt. oval dishes with glass covers.
