I've purchased 2 sets of this Corelle Livingware 'Classic Cafe Blue' to have a service for 8. In the past three years, five of the eight bowls have SHATTERED just from being accidentally dropped about four feet above a vinyl floor. Instead of just chipping or cracking, they break into small, dangerous, sharp shards. I took photos of the recent breakage (I was just drying the bowl with a towel when it fell out of my hands), planning to show the clerk at the Corelle store, but I don't even care to have them replaced. Homes with small children should avoid this type of dinnerware: the tiny, sharp pieces can be lost under a piece of furniture until the little fingers or toes find them. On the other hand, if you're not as clumsy as the folks in my home, it's an okay substitute for expensive china, so for that, I'd give it a star. Another star for the mugs: they're stoneware and none have broken yet.

I'v been using Corelle since I can remember. My folks still has their original set from I don't know when. Very sturdy lightweight pieces that can take alot of beating. There is no other brand I will use other than Corelle when it comes to dinnerware.
