Customer Review: Good option when discreet carry is required.

First off, this knife is no substitute for a metal knife- either as a tool or a weapon. The fiberglass reinforced plastic blade is decent for stabbing, but the edge dulls quickly and is only suited for mild cutting tasks.That said, it makes for a relatively safe and effective letter opener (the use to which I presently put it).
This knife is perfect for situations where carrying a 'real' metal knife would be a legal or social liability, as it won't set off metal detectors and can pass as a letter opener.

Cold Steel Nightshade Series Boot Blade I, Black as a moonless night, silent as the grave, and totally undetectable-these are the qualities that make up the lightweight Nightshade series. Made from Grivory - the latest in fiberglass reinforced plastic, and stronger than even the super tough Zytel - they are UV and heat stabilized, making them impervious to the elements.
