This product works great only if you are making pie or jam. The opening is to small to feed Bing cherries and it really smooches the cherries up. Small pie cherries would fit fine. This thing would work really GREAT if you are cooking the cherries, but if you are trying to use the cherries fresh, like for a fruit salad in my case, it just destroys the cherry too much. It didn't really seem to explain that in product description, so I was dissapointed that it didn't work for what I wanted it for, but as soon as I need to make a pie or jam, I will be happy as a clam.

If you want to pit more than one cherry at a time and don't mind crushed or split cherries, the Chop Rite Cherry Stoner is the cherry pitter for you. The crank wheel on the Chop Rite Cherry Stoner forces the cherries through a narrow channel, squeezing out the stone. A few pits may go through. Cannot be used for choke cherries. Xylon coated cast body cleans easily and resists rust. Clamps to surfaces up to 1 3/4" thick.Corers & Pitters
