Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Chef'n Garlic Machine

Customer Review: It's ok
Summary: 4 Stars

It will hold at least 5 cloves. You just have to unscrew it more. I only use what I need for what I am making. Would never store garlic in it. But is does a good job. But cleaning it is the pits. Pounding it with a knife would be a lot easier or a regular press. It is soso. It is more work than it is worth.

Customer Review: Lacking
Summary: 2 Stars

Press doesn't hold much garlic in it (probably more than enough for typical American taste but I am a true Garlic lover) and what it will hold is not all that simple to load. Sadly the press block inside tends to leak a lot of the garlic juice through the back side so you actually lose a lot of the garlic essence.

Even worse is that it's far from air tight so you really can't store garlic in it for any length of time (then again, since it holds so small an amount you end up using it all in one use). Garlic left in it even overnight in the refrigerator will dry out and lose almost all of it's flavor.

Lastly, since it leaks you have to take the whole thing apart to clean it. While it's only 4 pieces apart, unwinding the "screw" on it to clean the back side is rather annoying.

It's a neat toy and nothing more.

Customer Review: Love, Love, Love This Garlic Press
Summary: 5 Stars

Use for garlic pressing, NOT for garlic storage!!!!
I love, love, love this garlic press. I've been using this garlic press for at least 15+ years and it never disappoints. I can put 4 to 5 garlic cloves in at once and have perfectly crushed garlic. Some of the reviewers haven't really liked how it stores the garlic, but that has never been a problem to me, because I wash and clean after each use. I really, really like fresh garlic and even a day or two of storage affects its taste to me. So, its no problem for me to just use fresh garlic each time. It is so easy to clean - just take apart and put into the dish washer. When you compare the effort needed to use a traditional garlic press, this saves SO much time. I love to use garlic in my cooking, and I think this is the one item I would really miss not having in my kitchen. I currently have two - just in case one of them is in my dishwasher and am thinking of getting a third, because there is a little change in its design.

Customer Review: Love, love, love, my garlic press.
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a serious garlic user and brought my old one on a visit to a friend's house and left it. I couldn't find a new one locally, so I ordered two (just in case).

Customer Review: Nice garlic mincer
Summary: 5 Stars

This little gadget does a nice job of mincing garlic without getting the garlic juice all over your hands. You can fill it up with garlic cloves and just push out the amount you want. You can store the rest in the mincer.

Also, it is very easy to take apart, clean and reassemble.
