I have been using this fantastic pot for two weeks now, and I'm totally and unabashedly in love with it! I researched electric kettles for weeks, narrowed it down to six, read endless user reviews, kept weeding the list until this beauty was the last to stand. Read more of the reviews and decided to give it a go.
The price made me gulp, as I had always used your basic enamel teakettle but got sick and tired of burning them up as I'm at a point where I forget what's going on in the world if I turn my back on anything for two seconds.
But it's a whole new world now! Fast boil, NO plastic inside (only the water level guide which water doesn't touch), shuts off after 30 sec. of rolling boil, no smell, pretty shape -- no regrets at all and it's worth every penny! (Read the instructions so that you use and care for it properly. It's easy to use, but read it.)

This cordless Electric Teakettle is both handy and attractive. To use, simply fill with water and place on the heating base. Plug base into outlet and turn on the switch; in just minutes, you'll have boiling water for your tea. To make pouring easier, the pot lifts completely off the base and can be carried to your dining room or living room as a convenient and attractive serving piece. The teakettle's heating element is located in the base and never comes in direct contact with the water, preventing mineral deposit build up. The dimensions of the teakettle are 9.5"W x 7.75"D x 8"H.For tea, instant coffee, or hot chocolate, this cordless, 1,500-watt electric kettle brings 1-1/3 quarts of water to a boil faster than a microwave. The kettle is made of stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. To provide 360-degree access, the kettle fits onto the power base in any position and swivels for easy liftoff. The heating element in the base never touches water, so there will be no mineral buildup on it. The roomy handle stays cool, the cord wraps on the base's underside, and rubber feet on the base resist slipping. For safety, the kettle shuts off automatically when water boils or if the kettle runs dry.
