I was skeptical of this product after reading some of the negative reviews, but so far I love it! I am using the two thermometers in two separate freezers; one in our indoor freezer and the other in a chest freezer in our garage. It took a few days to find a spot in the middle of the two freezers for the reciever, at first we kept getting an error message from one or the other. Now that we found a happy medium, it works great! I would definetly reccommend this thermometer!Customer Review: Great design, poor quality

This item has a good design and features, however has high failure rate. First set had a failed sensor right out of the package, manf. sent me a replacement st, it had a failed receiver. So I combined the sets into a workable setup, now a few weeks later, another sensor has failed. Poor quality control. Don't waste your money.Customer Review: Great idea BUT did not deliver

OK, so I read the reviews about this product when I was shopping around, and despite my concerns, I still chose to buy it. Boy was that a mistake. So why did I choose to buy it in the first place...
1) The external display unit that provides the convenience of knowing the temperature in the fridge and freezer without peeking inside
2) Dual temp monitors (in my case fridge and freezer)
3) The ability to see how much the temp drifts and adjust the fridge/freezer settings accordingly
Besides, it seemed to me that most who had issues with this product had them right away so if I could just get it to work I'd be good, or so I thought. I got the unit with the correct batteries and set it up and it worked like a charm. I was quite happy with my decision to purchase - only for it to stop working for no reason one week later. First an -- E -- (presumably error) message appeared on the display. So I turned to the manual for some guidance. There was no reference to errors or how to trouble shoot. Then I figured I'd just reset it, still no success. I removed the batteries, replaced them and put the display unit close to the sensors - that did not work either. It's going back today and I'm very disappointed because when it worked it was great.

In general, an awesome product. Very difficult to setup. Transmitter positioning inside freezer/fridge critical. Alarm setting is almost impossible. Directions don't help, will call their tech support. Hope they help, as it is an important safeguard to a rather flakey old freezer.Customer Review: Great! I've had this for months now and plan to get another one for another refrigerator. It is nice that each sensor can be programmed with its own set of alarm temperatures so you could use each sensor in a different freezer. You're not limited to one sensor in a fridge and one in a freezer. But be sure to use lithium batteries in the sensors.
The biggest issue I've had was range... putting the sensors in a fridge is probably severely limiting the range, so don't expect this thing to work that far away from the unit you want to monitor... other than that, I'm very happy with this device.
