Customer Review: Awsome machine
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been sewing since about grade school. I loved using my Mom's Signature sewing machine from Montgomery Wards. When she passed away it became mine. I've used it for many years now, but it's time to retire it. I needed something that was as easy to learn and easy to use. I was definately afraid to learn a new machine. I searched and compared for almost 2 weeks. The Brother CS6000I kept comming up with rave reviews no matter where I looked. Now that I have one of my own, I love it. The set up was easy and the performance was flawless. I have used it many times so far and I love the ease of the set up and it's so light weight I can change locations to use it and store it. I would definately reccomend this machine to anybody who loves to sew.

Customer Review: Back with 5 Stars
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this to replace my 24-year-old Pfaff, and it has completely revived my interest in sewing.

It sews beautifully and is easy and fun to use (after you READ THE MANUAL).

I love the light weight, needle up/down button, one-button reverse, speed control, easy bobbin, and quiet operation. I also like to use the little table for almost all sewing, not just large projects.

I can't give it five stars because the built in light is pitiful, and my needle threader doesn't work. But I think it is a great value and would buy it again.

ADDED 14 MONTHS LATER, January 5,2011: After more than a year of using and enjoying this machine, I would give it 5 stars; and I am convinced there is not a better value available today for a sewing machine. And the needle threader does work -it is a bit tricky to learn and as the manual states, it will not thread very small needles, below 11/70.

Customer Review: Bad News - Bad Bobbin Casing - Not worth it.
Summary: 1 Stars

I wish I had read the negative reviews before bothering with this machine. I was following the manual and sewing on muslim. Plain cotton muslim. Crash boom bang. I'm one of the bobbin victims. Bent needle and bobbin casing came flying out. What the ???? I've rewound bobbin, and tried mightily to get it to work. Top thread can't pull up the bobbin thread - just keeps jamming. $170 is too much money to spend on something worthless - and this machine is worth nothing. I loved the idea of it: light weight, lots of different stitches, big attachment to lay fabric on. I'd seen Brother products used on Trading Spaces so thought, heh! If they use Brothers why not me? Lesson learned. I'm now hunting for a Singer sewing machine. And not looking forward to the hassle of packing this up and returning it. Original box has already gone to recycle. Nope. Not looking forward to this at all.

Bottom line, this just 'taint worth the time, money, effort.
