Wow, these new machines are super light and that was one great thing I noticed about this sewing machine. My old one was so heavy that it doubled up as a weight machine!
What I love about this machine:
1) fantastic price for all the functionalities and great tools that came with it.
2) the tools include 3 bobbins, various foot peddles, tools to clean the sewing area, thread shredder, and many many more! Believe me, I was shocked how many extra tools that came with the machine.
3) a hard cover is included and an extended arm table for many projects that uses a lot of material.
4) three speed control .. Great if you are a beginner and especially for when you need to go slow
5) a clear panel where you can see your bobbin, believe me, it is an enormous help to see when the bobbin needs refilling!
6) Great light to work with.
There is a little to fault this machine right now,it is very easy to use, great instructions. My only slight concern is the lightness of the whole machine, which could mean the components may not last as long...and I hate to create another land fill item too soon.

I'm quite impressed with the machine that I got for a great price ($179.00)
I was afraid it would be flimsy and have a difficult time with the fabrics I use, but it was a champ. The additional flat surface table is quite handy, and I am pleased that this came with a hard plastic cover that allows the machine to be carried easily.
The decorative stitches are fun, but it did take a bit of time to tweak my sewing style to the computerized system. Each piece I make on it gets better and better.
I do recommend this machine. it is certainly no Pfaff, but you can't even get one of those used for this price. Go for it.

I am an experienced sewing machine user. I currently own and use 5 machines on a regular basis. This machine stitches nicely and easily travels to classes or retreats with me. It is extremely easy to use. The tensioning system works well. The bobbin winder works well. It stitches quickly and accurately for me on a regular basis. I have used this machine for everything from free motion quilting to knitwear garment sewing and it has consistently performed every task I've asked of it. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.Customer Review: A great machine!

My mom passed her old Brother on to me when she got a new machine for Christmas, and it was reliable and worked well. I began sewing a lot, and decided I needed a newer machine...so I bought this Brother after a lot of research. This is an awesome machine for the money I spent on it! It sews like a dream...I love the feature where you can press a button and the machine sews by itself. The different stitches are fantastic, and I love that the display tells you what presser foot to use for the stitch you selected. This machine is definitely one that I would recommend to anyone!Customer Review: A nice machine and a very good value.

I have owned this machine for about 6 months and have sewn several projects with it. I am not a person who spend his time sewing but the odd sewing project comes up and this machine is perfect for me. It has many stitches programmed into to it that makes sewing for me a breeze. It comes with enough attachments to give about anyone a terrific start right out of the box, just add thread and material and your off. I had very, very limited sewing experience before purchasing this machine and I find it to be very easy to set up and operate with a very quick learning curve. It is lighter than older sewing machines but I have not had any issues with the machine sliding or moving while sewing even large and heavier peices of material. I have tried all the accessories and options to see how they worked and I have not had any problem figuring out or using any of the options. Even the auto-threader works well. Another plus is that the few accessories that didn't come with the machine, are avaiable at a reasonable price to give you even more time saving flexibility. I can't imagine anything that this machine won't handle that any other machine of it's design would do. I expect my tools to work for me, I don't work for my tools. This machine is a great tool and a great value. It was everything that I was looking for at at a very reasonable price. I am very happy with my purchase.
