All I can say is this thing is awesome. I hate cooking, I hate cutting, I hate making a mess. At first I thought this thing was a gimmick, but ended up buying it anyways. I told my wife I was going to order this and she laughed at me because she knows I hate cooking. After I ordered the item, I told a friend and he laughed at me too. He said he had a different version (No Name Brand) and the thing was a piece of junk, not even sharp after two months. Well I have had mine for two years and still love it and still just as sharp. I have no idea what I would do without this and that is coming from a guy who hates cooking. The only time I will cook is when I know I can use the slicer to cut something. It is easy, makes great cuts and clean up is a snap. Even if I am just making a blt, I use the slicer to cut the tomato. I love it so much I ordered another one to have downstairs by the bar for cutting lemons and limes.
I bought mine through the gadget store on Amazon. If you are even debating on getting one, just buy it and try it. If you don't like it the gadget store has a great return policy. Trust me you won't return it. I received my order in about two days and as soon as I opened the box there were detailed instructions on what to do if you don't like the item.
I don't write reviews or even get this goofy over items, but this one was worth ever penny.

Being an amateur chef,I have never owned a mandolin before and always relied on my Cuisinart to do my shredding and slicing work. I always do research before buying a product and the research on this product was well worth it. This is an excellent product. You have to read the directions to learn how to slice,shred,dice,etc. to get the cuts you want,but once you do,using this product is fast and easy. The blades are super sharp and the hard plastic backs are easy to slide the veggys up and down. The only downside is that it lacks legs to put on the counter to cut into a bowl or into a plate. I recently bought a food dehydrator and wanted to quickly slice items for it. I read all of the amazon reviews and hoped that this would be as great as it seemed. For once, I've got somehting that WORKS. My food processor (a really good KitchenAid), is going to my daughter in law.
Hooo Boy it's SHARP. For the first time I have a tool than can slice tomatoes without squishing 'em.
I use it just about every day.
Wonderful.
