The set comes with different colors on the lids,very nice. If you hold your glass close to the jugs lip, there is no problem with pouring and spillage. I really like these glass pitchers, I bought them for myself, because I like to make home made ice tea and thought they would be perfect for that. I've already used it to keep milk fresher longer, I find the lids are quite snug. Perhaps some of the other reviewers received a bad egg? Not sure. Could be the quality is not consistent, however the pair I received are wonderful and seem to be great quality.
My only reason for a 4 start review is that, I wish the pair came in a larger size (in a pair, not alone) And I wish the lids were a plain and simple white or better a clear lid. the colors on these lids make them look silly.
The pitcher it self has a very nice pattern as another reviewer stated, you can look closely at the pictures. I didn't and was pleasantly surprised.
I would certainly recommend them and would happily purchase them again!

The size is perfect and the weight of the pitcher is good for people with arthritis. When it first arrived, it came damaged but amazon made things right very quickly. We got the Bormioli Rocco Gelo Refrigerator Jug 2 Piece Set, One Red Lid and One Green Lid. The handle on one is so close to the body that it is nearly impossible to grip, even for a woman with small hands. Something went wrong in the glass-making process. Very disappointing. We already had an old "Frigorella" brand that we love, and thought these would be the same. Would be great except for the manufacturing defect. Too expensive to ship them back, so will probably junk the one with too-tight handle, meaning that we spent nearly $12 for one jug. Otherwise, we like that the pitcher is made of glass and that the compact shape that fits easily in the refrigerator.

I have purchased 6 of these over the years and always used and enjoyed them. Not 1 has ever broken. I did not need tight sealing lids because the variety of liquids I kept in the refrigerator disappeared quickly.
Now I am giving mine away--tendontis in my dominant hand and general muscle depletion have made them much too heavy for me any more.
I have found the same item but in the pint size (already have one) and have ordered 4. So, you can see I like these and was surprised by the low rating and varied criticism--except about the weight, especially when full. However the weight only bothered me recently.
