These pitchers look so nice! The lids, however, don't fit snugly at all.
But forget about the lids. I bought these pitchers because I was frustrated at the stupid, square milk and orange juice cartons in Brazil, which either shoot the liquid out across the room or drain the liquid down the side of the box. Well, these pitchers are no better. For my first test, I put a medium amount of milk into the pitcher and attempted an optimal pour into my cereal bowl. I eased the pitcher up, and milk dribbled down the side from the spout. This was under perfect pouring conditions. Fail.

I am very happy with these pitchers. They are made of a sturdy glass and they fit very well in the refrigerator. I like that they come with different colors of lids, as I use one for goat kefir (green) and the other for raw milk cow kefir (red). I bought these after graduating high school. I use them in my apartment. They are very handy and attractive. They are really easy to take care of and they hold up. They are breakable though so you have to be really careful. They also leak if you don't close the lid properly. Other than that they are great for holding liquids (tea, soda, etc.) They don't hold that much liquid in them so it's not good for a large family. I am single so they're perfect for me. Boy, did we have an Amazon day! The first part, the research is time consuming but the ordering and delivery is easy. So, if any of you need this information, it will save you some time.
Great Product. Nice heavier weight and and ~GLASS~! Sturdy and stable. Nice, handles. Attractive and nice lids. (More on that below). Hey, they are from Italy not China, that's something! Reminds me of my grandmother's and aunts old fridge pitchers. We bought these to put milk in made from powdered milk we also just received today from Amazon. We have been stranded in our mountain home for a few weeks in snow. I ordered the French Nestles powdered milk on Amazon (it is NOT non fat, thank goodness). I remember when driving through France there were so many of those beautiful black and white cows actually grazing and feeding off the grassy hillsides and meadows and figured it couldn't taste too bad... Too bad most of our cows don't get to do that anymore and have to eat corn. Another subject. Anyway, had to have milk. In my search I had to figure out which pitchers to order for so we could make and store 1/2 gallon of milk at a time, they had to be glass, and which would hold a quart each. Each of these is about 41 ounces and will hold 1 quart (32 oz) of milk each with just a tiny bit of room at the top. Worked out perfectly. Then I thought, how are we going to blend the milk and water? My mom does not have many things up here to make life easier, so, also ordered the Cuisinart, Pink for breast cancer, blender to blend it with. You have to think ahead! Great blender too.
ABOUT THE LIDS-CAN WE PUT THIS ISSUE TO REST? I told my son of some of the comments about the lids. He's really smart about engineering , design etc. As he said, " I am so use to using pitchers without lids these are great". Some help he was! Anyway, they are not totally airtight and it would be almost impossible to make plastic assembly line lids to fit a glass pitchers, like this, at this price, air tight. The purpose of these, I think, is to fit pretty well so as not to leave your things wide open to tastes of the refrigerators and to prevent 'slosh' spills from movement. The lids are colorful and functional. I personally would have made the red lid pink but then I guess some guys might not have bought them (partially kidding!). They are tight enough to do the job intended.
They twist to shut off the spout and twist to open, so you can pour. Ours were snug and not loose enough at all to fall out. Remember though, to put on top level of dishwasher to wash as that could affect the shape and fit of lids. Glass pitcher fine on the bottom. Got to leave a few more reviews (PLEASE TAKE TIME TO LEAVE REVIEWS AS IT HELPS OTHERS) and then, I am going to order at least two more of these! We love them.

The lids are the cheapest throw-away type plastic that do not fit. Pouring, even very carefully, results in spillage. The handles are too close to the bottle to allow for a good grasp as you can barely squeeze your fingers in.
