First a note about the color-it is not really that beige like it looks in the picture, it's more of a nice off-white.
This is a great unit for the price! I started with a Blueair 402 unit but that unit was just too big for my room. The 402 is way bigger than even the largest computer tower I've seen and it's too heavy to move around too.
The 250E is the perfect size and can be fairly easily moved around from room to room if need be. Also, it includes electronics on it that has a remote with a timer, something the 402 model did not have. The 402 is slightly quieter at the lowest speed setting because it has a larger fan inside so it can move slower, but the 250E is still very quiet. Even at the middle speed setting, I find the sound level to be quite relaxing and I can even sleep well at that setting. This unit also has an automatic sensor for odors and particles when in the Auto speed setting. This works surprisingly well. I set it up a few feet away from my computer when I was blowing out the computer dust with a bottle of canned air and the Blueair automatically kicked in to high speed as soon as I started, very cool! Instead of just guessing which speed you should be on, the Auto function goes up and down depending on what it senses, a feature that I really like. You can basically turn it to Auto mode and forget about it if you want.
This unit seems very well made and quite sturdy. I would recommend it for the size, features and price. Unless your room is quite large, you probably do not need a larger unit. For an office, den or bedroom, this is the unit to get. For a large living room, you may wish to consider one of the larger units; just be aware that they are bigger than the online pictures look and will be quite imposing in the room unless you can hide it off in a corner or something.
