I've been using this for about a week now. It was a bit surprising how small it is out of the box, but it makes three cups of cooked rice (plenty for a single guy). White rice comes out well. I've cooked some of Lipton's Rice Sides, and they come out okay (there's a bit of leakage around the lid as there is barely enough room in the small bowl).
Things I don't like:
-1 "cup" of uncooked rice doesn't equal 1 cup. You have to use the included measuring cup when cooking and may have to adjust recipies.
-Cooking time is a bit longer than cooking on the stove (5-10 minutes more). The result is better, so I'm willing to make that tradeoff.
-The bowl really is small. I've seen some interesting rice cooker recipes that I wanted to try, but there's not enough in the cooker for anything besides rice.
For $12, I'm happy, but I'm eying a 5-cup cooker for added versatility.
