I had the original B&D flavor-scent steamer for over 10 years and it finally died. (I used it at least 3 times a week) Found this one and ordered right away because I was so pleased with the first one. The only thing I do not like about this is that the lid is not made as well and does not fit tight. Wish I kept the lid from the original steamer, it was made of thicker plastic and fit snug. Also, no instructions on how to cook many items like the first steamer.
Otherwise this is a great steamer. Perfect to hard boil eggs. Just fill the reservoir to the top level, set the eggs in the basket and set timer for 30 minutes. They always turn out perfect!

The steamer does what the descriptions says, but it is about half the size my Oster steamer was. I am keeping this one because it is such a hassle to repackage it and ship it back - and I don't have a family. If I did, its capacity would not be good because it is SMALL. You won't be able to fit as many vegetables in each bowl. When I first took it out of the box, it looked like a toy compared to the one I had. It's hard to judge the size from the written description - at least it was for me. In the picture it looks about the same size as the Oster. I just want people to know it is small so they aren't shocked like I was!Customer Review: Black and Decker Steamer

This is a very nice addition to our kitchen. It makes for fast and healthy food preparation. A nice benefit is the weight loss that comes from eating steamed vegetables. In about a month I have lost 15 lbs. We cook almost any kind of vegetable and even cook eggs in the steamer. We also purchased one for our daughter to encourage her to eat healthy.
