bought this item 6 months ago. after 4 months of use (approximately opening about 4 cans a week), the battery wont get charged anymore. why nicad in the first place? B&D havent heard of NiMH maybe!
after replacing the batteries, in 2 months the gear of the motor to the opener got misaligned/wore off. the whole thing now is a junk. regretted opting for this wireless "geekzmo". my previous B&D 1st generation Spacemaker was far better cause it lasted for 5 years.
Definitely, B&D quality control is very questionable this time.
