For the money I paid I really like the coffee maker. It brews excellent coffee in a short time and keeps it hot on the heating tray. And these are the essential features for a coffee maker. Yes I agree the controls look like cheap plastic and so you wonder how long they will last. The coffee maker being a programmable coffee maker is definitely a plus. I found the instructions how to set up the timer etc. unlcear and it took several readings before I got it right. Why a company like Black&Decker cannot get the instructions to be easily readable and understanbdable escapes me.
Bottom line- for the price you cannot go wrong.
