I highly recommend this coffee maker for anyone on the go. It brews fast and it is easy to clean. It shuts off automatically when it's done. However, for best results use paper filter(#1 cone)instead of the reusable filter basket that comes with it (the pores are not small enough to do the job adequately). Also, the mug that comes with is cheap with a handle that looks like a work in progress; use your own. This machine is durable and rugged. For years, I have been keeping one at home and one in the office using each at least twice a day. I would love to see a stainless steel version of it. It sells for $14.99 at Kmart as of March 2010.Customer Review: A Great Little Appliance!

This little coffee maker is a great little appliance for any single or mug a day coffee drinker. It's a miser, only two tablespoons of ground coffee gives you a great, moderately strong large mug of coffee. Only five minutes from start to finish, it shuts itself off and has an easy to clean permanent filter too. I take it with me when I go camping, it's small and there's no glass pot to break. I had the original one that lasted 10 or more years and tried another brand that only lasted 1-2 weeks. What was I thinking? This one is the best Personal Coffee Maker and fits under the shelf too. I recently purchased this item and overall I really like it-simple, convenient size, auto-turn off, no pot, good price, etc. However a helpful note for those of you considering purchasing it in regard to the mug (for the DCM18S model): the inside of it is NOT stainless steel. Only the outside is. When I bought it, I figured the mug had a stainless steel inside, but its made of plastic, like the old model (DCM18). Also the handle is flimsy. A couple suggestions here for Black and Decker!
So I'm going to try to find a stainless steel-lined mug that fits in this coffee maker. I used to have a mug that was stainless steel lined and you don't get that a) plastic taste, or b) residual stale coffee taste that you sometimes get with plastic mugs.

This is the 2nd one of these I've purchased. The first one lasted 10-years being used every single day. So, when it came time to replace it I wanted to replace it with exactly the same thing. Thank heaven Black & Decker still has it. It will accomodate both a regular and jumbo coffee mug.
