Previously we owned a Black and Decker space saver electric can opener. We used it for years until it died. The only thing I didn't like about it was trying to clean the opener part and blade. I ordered this as a replacement. It is horrible. It takes me longer to get the cans to open than it does to pull out a hand held opener and twist it manually around the can top. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I would send it back, but I threw away the box before I tried it.Customer Review: It works!

After reading the other reviews here, I was really nervous about purchasing this, but our other one (also a B&D) had broken after ~12 years, and I couldn't imagine not having one. I was also concerned about installation since I knew that I'd hear the grousing from DH if it was difficult. But, my worries were unfounded. Installation was fine. We were a little disapointed that the holes didn't match exactly (but SO close - why do they do that?), but DH installed without a problem. It's been working fine. I have to admit, I've only opened about 6 cans so far, but they have all opened with ease.Customer Review: Junk, Junk, Junk

This thing can't even perform its basic function of opening cans. Worked for about 2 months, but the plastic part that holds the cutter in place is - well, made of plastic; really cheap plastic - so one of the little tabs bent out of place, and voila! No more can opener. If you want to impress friends and neighbors with your useless-but-pretty under-counter can opener, then by all means buy this worthless junk. Just be sure to buy a manual can opener as a backup.Customer Review: Just A Can Opener

This Item is not as good as the one (15 years old) it replaced. It's mounting is not as good,requiring you to use plastic spacers instead of hea metal plate that the unit slides in and locks. It also cuts a lot slower (gear) is smaller. Leaves jaggered edges on top piece it cuts. It works. I don't believe it'll last have as long. I'd recomend it for the price.
