Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker BL1900 5-Speed Blender with 48-Ounce Glass Jar, Brushed Stainless

Customer Review: Works fine!
Summary: 4 Stars

I have had this blender for almost three years and use it to make smoothies often. I've never had any of the problems mentioned with it stopping after several uses, or with thick smoothies. I am missing a part (gasket) which makes it a little leaky, but it still works fine. I love that it can go in the dishwasher and, really, it is one of the sleekest blenders out there!

Customer Review: a symptom of all that is wrong....
Summary: 1 Stars

so I try to find a replacement blender cup/blade/gasket/cap in one unit. It's impossible. I could buy the individual replacement parts and spend more on parts and shipping than the original total blender. It's ridiculous. If you haven't learned already- before you buy any appliance, first check to see how difficult/easy and expensive/inexpensive it will be to repair or replace parts. Black&Decker is at the bottom of my list. Correction, B&D is off my list.

The plastic piece on the bottom of the blender broke, after I had it for around a year.

Customer Review: good for one-use only

This blender worked great the first five minutes out of the box. I cut it off to check the results, tried to cut it on again and the motor never came back on! Very disappointing. If you're gonna take your chance with this product, save your receipt and box -- you'll probably need it.

Customer Review: junk
Summary: 1 Stars

Mine died today while trying to make a fruit smoothy with ice. It made one batch ok, 2nd batch it died. no real warning, slowed down and died. Lites turn on and make a click noise when you press them, but thats it. Stupid. No device like this should die, it should turn off automatically if its over loaded or over heated. Can I do anything with it now? Looks like new.
