Customer Review: The Upper Crust
Summary: 4 Stars

Was a little unsure about this item at first when reading some of the poor reviews about the stone breaking. But decided to try it. It arrived in one piece, but some of the styrofoam packing around the stone was broken when it arrived. The pizza cutter is cheap that comes with it, but I wasn't planning on using it any way. I've made 2 pizzas and 1 sourdough loaf. This stone definately improves the crust of pizzas and bread loaves. Our family is very happy with the results so far. I really bought this set because it comes with a paddle. I reduced the size of the pizza I make to 12 inches, and it still took the paddle AND a spatula to get the pizza in the oven - I was hoping for better results. The paddle had no problem taking the baked pizzas and bread OUT of the oven. I was surprised to find that the 15" stone just(and I mean just) fits in the oven. Pizza sauce did spill over and baked(burned)on to the stone. It looks ugly, but works fine. I do not put corn meal on the stone as the instructions state. It will burn. I put it under the crust, before I put the toppings on, and a little more on the paddle before scooping it up.
Still a good experience.

Customer Review: Very Good Baking Stone
Summary: 5 Stars

I just received this baking stone, the the first one I have ever used. How in the world did I did I do without one??? I use it all the time since it is so easy to bake bread and pizza. Due to gluten sensitivity, I now make my own flat-bread pizza, regular pizza and bake my own bread without worrying about this issue. I recommend this item highly and would suggest trying it yourself. I oiled the wooden paddle so it would hold up longer. Enjoy!

Customer Review: Works great, good price too
Summary: 5 Stars

We had it for few weeks and has made almost 5-6 home-made pizza already. The stone works great but I had a very hard time transferring the dough from the peel to the stone. Found it easier to just preheat the oven with the stone inside, then take out the stone and put the dough on it, add topping and bake. However, the peel works well with store bought uncooked pizza.

Customer Review: Yeah, it's bad
Summary: 1 Stars

Here's what I did first day I got this: Put the stone on the lowest rack of my cold oven, then set the oven to 550, and let it fully heat up for 30 minutes. I used the peal that comes with the set, which is not really large enough to hold a good size pizza. So I get the first pizza into the oven, let it bake for 5 minutes, pizza is looking good! I open the oven to check the crust - CRACK! Well, the crack doesn't seem to effect it's ability to bake pizza. I baked a second pizza just after the first, they both came out fine. On top of which, the stone got really burnt, and I doubt I'll ever get it clean, leaving me to worry it will impart a burnt taste to whateve gets baked in there now

The small peal is a bit of a pain - but cracking on the very first use - even if it is still quite usable - is ridiculous.

The product I bought was cheap - and I got what I paid for...
