Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Baker's Secret 116466007 Basics Nonstick 6-Cup Texas Muffin PanCustomer Review: Are these pans seconds? Summary: 3 Stars
While I hate to speak ill of a muffin pan that only costs $3.99, including super saver shipping, and is included in the 4 for 3 special, I will. There are little dents in the bottoms of the muffin cups. This came very well packaged, so I think that the dents were there originally and not caused by shipping. Because of the low cost of the item, general hassle, plus it probably won't affect the overall baking of muffins, I'm not returning it. It's just that the pan arrived not looking new because of all the little dents, and I'm not sure that asking for another one would produce better results. On the positive side, this pan is warranteed for five years, so if the dents do cause a problem, I can return it to the manufacturer.
Customer Review: Awesome Summary: 5 Stars
I used this for the first time today. I made chocolate chip muffins and they turned out great! I can't wait to use this for more recipes!
Customer Review: Baker's Secret Texas Muffin Pan Summary: 5 Stars
I bought four of these pans. I gave two to my friend and I kept two. We used them to make red velvet cupcakes for our friends baby shower. The cupcakes turned out so nice. They were big and beautiful. We bought the muffin/cupcake liners at our local Michael's for $1.99. We got all four pans for about $17...It truly makes a large cupcake. Some people even shared one. I can't wait to use these to make cupcakes for my daughters birthday party!
Customer Review: Bakes like a charm! Summary: 5 Stars
I used this for the first time and was plesantly surprised at how well it baked! While I didn't have 'cupcake liners', I used baking spray on bottom and sides and they came out great and with ease! Be sure to set your oven according to the directions of the recipe (e.g. a lower temp will be recommended for dark or coated pans). I plan to make muffins and even individual meatloafs in it! I am looking forward to future experiences and even considering purchasing another one!
Customer Review: Big Muffins! Summary: 5 Stars
Sometimes you just want to make a bigger muffin. I have used my Chicago Metallic Professional Nonstick 12-Cup Muffin Pan for quite awhile, which works greats but gives you lots of little muffins instead of those nice big muffins you can find on sale at grocery stores. Chicago Metallic also makes a 6-Cup Muffin Pan, but I figured I would try out the less expensive Baker's Secret brand.
It turns out that less is more! I am really pleased with this Baker's Secret 6-Cup Muffin Pan. I don't know if they are quite "Texas-sized," but the pan does make some nice sized larger muffins.
I haven't used any Muffin Cups, and I usually don't when I am baking, and everything has turned out just great. The non-stick coating means that the muffins pop out with no muss and no fuss. Clean up is a snap, and I don't use more than a little butter spray on the pans before baking.
I still love Chicago Metallic, but I am more likely to give Baker's Secret a try after my success with this muffin pan!
