I'm not sure why the first review had such issues with the product. I've had this exact product for years and it does the job perfectly. I've never had to sharpen anything! It peels, cores, and slices the apples I use for applesauce and apple pie in minutes! I love it! I'm actually ordering one for my mother as well since she has been using mine and won't give it back!
