Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Back to Basics Jar LifterCustomer Review: Jar Lifter: Old kind seem to be more efficient Summary: 3 Stars
This product is of high quality, but isn't efficient. The style of grip doesnt allow for quickly removing the jars for you need two hands to open and close the product. But if you are not in a rush, this products is well built.
Customer Review: Jar Lifter; Great to have Summary: 5 Stars
I never knew that I would us this so much. I am able to handle the jars while canning. No longer do I burn my fingers, or get the potholders or towels all wet. It is easy to use, and it securely holds the jars when removing them from the canner.

Love this for lifting hot jars out of water bath or pressure canner... it needs to be in every kitchen if you can....

I just used this for the first time last month when I preserved strawberry sauce. Worked like a charm! Never felt like the jar would slip. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Customer Review: Must Have for Home Canning Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not sure I have the upper body strength to lift several cans at once out of boiling water, so I'm happy I found this Jar Lifter. I've been using it for about 10 years. Before I used a plain set of tongs, for my first canning attempt, and it was too scary to repeat. I purchased my Jar Lifter before the silicone gloves appeared on the market. And even though I've used the gloves a few times, they tend to soak up the heat, so unless you have two gloves to alternate, not a good thing.
This grips the can around the grooves near the top, and makes it easy to lift out of the water. I've tried to lift the cans side wise a few times, when they fall over, but I'm always sure I'll drop the jar.
