I have finally determined that Brookstone sells really high priced junk and has a strict return policy (only 30 days with receipt regardless if item breaks on the 32nd day -- they will not even exchange it). They are one of the worst stores I have dealt with -- I can only state that they know they sell high priced junk and thus they cover themselves well. I bought this item and a clock from them (both are only work sporadically -- which makes them worthless -- when I went back to exchange them -- well there were two people in front of me trying to return items also -- should not have been suprised. Avoid Brookstone -- unless you want to be taken, also.
