My husband installed it and didn't mention any troule, but he's very handy with tools. The lamp came with the arm slightly warped/bent and the light is very dim. Arm is very stiff to adjust position requiring two hands and some force. Not good for a reading light, which is what I was hoping for. Primarily a light for ambiance. Also the black wall plate is a dull/dry/matte finish as opposed to a buffed/glossy look like the picture shows. Looks decent as decor item and price is good.
