Customer Review: Not suitable for constant use as a dining table

We've had this table and chairs for about 5 years. The finish began coming off the table top almost right away. The chairs are in constant need of repair. We finally sanded down and refinished the table top with a more protective finish, so at this point we're keeping the table but we're in the market for new chairs. (Two of ours has gone beyond repair.)
It's neat and multi-functional - just not real sturdy. It might hold up better, if it were mostly used as a game table, instead of the sole dining table.
(Note: This was bought five years ago, maybe things have improved since then.)
