It does work a little bit thats why I gave it two stars.
I still have to try it several times before it will actually open something. The way its designed (probably as a safety feature) doesn't allow you do slice off too much of the plastic, you get slivers which really do not help very much.
And the one I got did come in clamshell packaging so I needed one of these things just to get it out of the package LOL.

I had high hopes that this simple device would do what was advertised; open those annoying plastic packages. It did not work...it is very poorly made (extremely low quality) and it broke by about the thrid package I used it on. The electric scissors are poor quality too; I can't even open the door on the battery compartment.Customer Review: Horrible Product

Basically I paid over $14 including shipping for a razor blade. The Package Shark Pro Opener is a razor blade enclosed in a vey cheap non functional holder. The product arrives in the type of packaging the it is supposed to open. Using my own sissors, I carefully extracted the product and then tested it on its' own package. It did not work al all. In my attmpts to open the package the razor blade bent. The free battery operated sissors may work, but I could not get the battery compartment to open to insert the batteries. The package shark does the job reasonably well. However, it takes more manipulation and fiddling that it should, along with significant strenth (over other types of cutters in this class).
The scissors are a toy and nothing more. I will grant that they gnaw through paper and some light clothes, but barely. They are quite loud for what they are and the cut is always jagged.
I'd look to other products first.

It's a cheap product that I don't expect to last a long time, but the package opener works better than scissors would in trying to open that dang packaging .... once you can get the package open, that is (grin).
