This item does exactly what it says it's going to do. It chops veggies. I can understand some of the other reviews about it being more of a mess to clean up than a knife and cutting board, though. Where it saves time is when you're cutting more than just a few vegetables. I made some stew last week, and it cut the chopping time down drastically, and cleanup was still easy. Use common sense when using the chopper - don't try to stick a whole tomato or onion in it and expect results. I cut an onion in half, then put it in the chopper. Worked beautifully, and no tears! The dicer saved me a lot of time on garlic, too. Easy to dice, ends up in pieces that are just the right size. The only complaint I have is that sometimes food gets stuck in between the little squares on the top part. Included is a tool to easily clean that out. Four stars based on the cleanup issue. Not recommended if you are only chopping a small amount.
