I bought this after reading a review of vaporizers / humidifiers in Good Housekeeping magazine, http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/product-testing/reviews-tests/appliances-electronics/best-humidifiers. This Air O Swiss model is different than the one recommended by GH, but it is AWESOME.
It's a cold mist, so it's safe for kids / pets; I only need to fill it once a day; it is designed so that it won't grow mold or harbor germs / viruses; very fine mist & leaves no powdery residue. VERY EASY to USE! AWESOME!
BONUS -- much lower energy costs than other humidifiers / vaporizers AND much more effective.

I chose this model based on online reviews and let me just say they were spot on. This is by far the best humidifier in the market. Be it that you want low or really high levels of humidity in your room this unit does it all in a really short amount of time. It is easy to clean and has more than sufficient water capacity. Does it pump out the mist? Yup. Does it run fairly quiet? Yup. Does it pump out white powder all over my plastics or electronics (anything with a little bit of a static charge) Yup.
I couldn't get this unit to stop producing this white powder that drifts in the air and attaches itself to my suit bags, photo printer, television, etc...
Air-O-Swiss recommends using filters or bottled water if you are getting this mist...really?
I thought...maybe because my water is so bad I have to replace the filter in the unit more frequently...bought a 3 pack and started replacing them every couple of weeks...nope still powder. Used the filtered water dispenser on my fridge to fill the container...nope still powder.
Very expensive unit with good mist performance, but expensive to own and a pain to keep it running while making a mess in the room you have it in and the rooms surrounding.

While the product is esy to use I found it was inadaquate for the size of our bedroom. It was a cold dry winter and the unit barly kept the humidity at exceptable levels. I also found it made white dust.The makers claim that it will not make white dust, and that was one reason I was willing to pay the high cost for this rather small unit. I would say I am most disappointed in the operation of this unit and not recommend it for purchase.
