Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of 100 Watt Black Swingarm LampCustomer Review: Good lamp. Summary: 5 Stars
I have had this lamp for a year. It stays put well and is useful.
Customer Review: Junk Summary: 2 Stars
Bought this and hoped it would be better than the last. It wasn't.
Piece of junk. Never turned on right, and couldn't tighten it down.
Customer Review: No good for drafting tables Summary: 3 Stars
No complaints about the lamp's ability to project light.
If you'd like to be able to actually point said light where you want it, however, you may run into a bit of trouble. The joints on what I guess you can call the elbow and wrist will hold decently, but there is nothing to stop the entire lamp from pivoting on the base wherever gravity will take it.
If you've got the lamp clamped to a horizontal surface, I suppose the above won't cause you any trouble. If you're trying to clamp it to the top of, say, a drafting table, you'll probably need to make a few "repairs" to keep it from swinging back into your face.
Customer Review: Quality product that is exactly what I was hoping for Summary: 5 Stars
Most importantly, the lamp is very easily extended/retracted and swivels easily from side to side. The clamp allows you to attach the lamp very firmly to the edge of a desk or cabinet. I installed mine over my desk and it lights up my work area very well. I am using a 60W high efficiency bulb, so I am saving electricity and also not under a hot lamp.
This is a very useful product, and I would most certainly recommend it if you're looking for a way to light up your work area.
Customer Review: not what they used to be Summary: 3 Stars
I've had Luxo lamps for years but the current crop is not as well made as they used to be. The old ones lasted forever. The new ones seem flimsy, joints do not tighten properly.
